Co-Writing & Office Hours
with Sara
90 minutes, once a week for focus, accountability, and support
You know those things you need to write for your business that keep getting put off?
The projects like your website updates, the book you dream about, the course you want to launch next season …
Or the ongoing things you want to be consistent with, like your newsletter or blog or LinkedIn posts.
Co-Writing & Office Hours with Sara is a weekly date on your calendar to do that work.
Having a regular time set aside — with a start and end point — helps you do the things you wouldn’t get to otherwise.
Plus you don’t have to do it alone!
Being in community with others doing similar work makes it less lonely and adds accountability. And I’m right there to help when you get stuck.
A quick conversation stops you from staring at the blank page or caught up in too many swirling thoughts. You get clarity, and you get back to work.
—Val Nelson
Here’s how it works:
- Come with something you need to write.
- I’ll guide us through getting grounded and ready to start.
- Everyone will identify what they are working on.
- We’ll get to work!
- Get support if you need it — if you are stuck or want feedback or a sounding board on what you’re working on, we’ll meet in a separate room to help you get unstuck.
- We’ll come back together to see how it went.
These are just some of the kinds of things I’ve helped people with in these sessions:
- Getting unstuck around sending a newsletter after a long time of being silent.
- Thinking through how to streamline the process of blog/newsletter/social
- Seeing how a personal experience was relevant to their business
- Finding the ideas that have energy in a big list of options
- Tightening a post for clarity and succinctness
- A fresh perspective when they were too close to what they were trying to do.
Today I went to Co-Writing & Office Hours hosted by the incredible Sara Barry. Think virtual coworking with a focus on creating content and a writing coach available to help you break through any blocks you’re having about what to write or how to say it. It’s helped me on the spot and in building self-trust and confidence in my writing. Plus these sessions give me an anchor as I build a regular rhythm with my newsletter and blog writing.

Questions
Can I come late or leave early?
Yes. Putting aside the whole block of time is ideal, but some time to focus and get support is better than none!
If you come late, I’ll help you get settled and started. It’s okay to leave early if you need to.
What kinds of things can we ask for help with?
Anything related to your writing, from coming up with ideas to actual wording to mental blocks to ways to make the process easier.
Some ideas:
- I don’t know what to write for my next newsletter/post.
- Does this make sense? What’s missing or unclear?
- I need to make this shorter. What can I cut?
- Which of these ideas should I write about?
- I want to be sending a newsletter weekly, but I can’t seem to keep up.
If you aren’t sure what your question is but you’re feeling stuck, check in with me. We can figure out where you are getting stuck together.
What kinds of things do people work on?
You work on you newsletter, blog, or social posts; copy for their website; invitations; video scripts; course content…. It’s intentionally broad.
You can also work on brainstorming or planning around your writing.
For the most part, people are working on writing for their business, and that’s what I’m most able to help with, but you can use the dedicated time and accountability to get anything done!
How do we focus on work if you are helping other people?
After we gather and ground, I’ll open a quiet Writing Room. Everyone will work quietly in that breakout room. I’m available in the main room any time you want to come in for support.
