The sunflowers in my garden are stunning this year. And just down the road, there is a house that has a yard full of them— row after row of sunflowers.
Every time I drive by, I smile.
I want to drop off a note telling them how much delight they have brought me the last two seasons.
It doesn’t take a lot to brighten someone’s day.
One of the things people say sometimes when thinking about their newsletter is “I don’t want to bother people” or “I don’t want to be annoying.”
I get that … my inbox is as overflowing as yours. But I know this too: there are newsletters I always look forward to reading. I bet you have some like that too.
My suggestion:
When you’re writing, think about being the sunflower in someone’s inbox, something that brings delight and makes someone smile or is just what they need in that moment.
See how the writing goes, see what the energy is in your message when you come into it that way.
Company & Support for Your Writing
There are a number of things that hold people back from writing for their business.
Worry about being too much, not sure what to say, too busy, not sure if it makes sense …
Co-Writing & Office Hours with Sara is a pocket of grounding and focus with a busy week.
You get the camaraderie and accountability of showing up with others, and I’m there as thought partner, writing coach, or editor if you get stuck.
When you show up, we take a few minutes to get grounded and choose what we’re working on. Then everyone goes into the Quiet Writing Room — unless they want support from me.
I bring fresh eyes and perspective, questions to help find the answer that works for where you are … and the reminder to bring your sunflower energy.
We come together at the end to share how things went and celebrate wins.
Co-writing and Office Hours with Sara happens on Zoom Wednesday 1–2:30 PM ET.

In recent sessions, people got a newsletter set up, some emails about a new program done, and some clarity about new descriptions for a program.
I love the shifts that happen over 90 minutes of doing the work — or 10 minutes of talking through a sticking point. And I love seeing people dig into “good enough” energy and actually get their ideas out into the world.
What are you ready to stop overthinking and get done? I’d love to help you do it.
